I am a sixth generation member at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Baltimore, Maryland, having lived in the Baltimore area all of my life.
After graduating from Western Maryland College (now McDaniel College), I pursued a career in banking that spanned 24 years. I also served the church during those years as a lay leader at Immanuel, holding practically all positions and offices within the church at some point.
My banking and business experience resulted in an opportunity to join the staff of the Southeastern District LCMS in 1998 as Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of the Lutheran Church Extension Fund. During my 20 year tenure in this position, I was blessed with the opportunity to interact with over 90% of District congregations, providing resources such as loans, services, and financial tools in support of efforts to reach others for Christ.
Since retiring from the Southeastern District staff on December 31, 2018, I have continued serving at my home congregation while welcoming new opportunities to serve the greater church. I continue to reside in Timonium, Maryland with Gwen, my wife of 45 years. Our three children all live relatively close by with two sons residing in the Baltimore/Washington area and a daughter in Norristown, PA.
